About the event
Sunday, June 22nd is the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ, also known as Corpus Christi Sunday. The words Corpus Christi mean "Body of Christ," and this solemnity marks with particular emphasis the doctrine of Christ's real presence - body, blood, soul, and divinity - in the Eucharist.
As part of our celebration of Corpus Christi, St. Joseph will have a Corpus Christi procession after the 9:30 AM Mass on June 22nd. Immediately following Mass, the Blessed Sacrament will be placed in a monstrance and carried out of the church with all invited to follow in a procession around the parish campus. We will end in the St. Joseph Activity Center where we will gather for a moment of silent adoration followed by Solemn Benediction.
The Corpus Christi procession is a centuries old tradition of the Catholic faith to process the Real Presence of Jesus, the Eucharistic, out of the church bringing the blessing of the Lord into the community. The Corpus Christi procession is a public witness of faith and worship of the Most Blessed Sacrament.
