St. Joseph’s Parish will celebrate the OCIA Rite of Entrance and Acceptance on Sunday October 25th during a special Mass at 3 PM, giving the congregation a chance to support the journey of 90+ Inquirers who are working toward full communion with the Catholic Church.

The beautiful ceremony includes the introduction of all the candidates, a special blessing reminding them to keep God as the guiding force in their thoughts, words, and actions, and the signing of the senses.

The Rite of Entrance and Acceptance signals the end of the Period of Inquiry and the beginning of the Period of the Catechumenate. During the Period of the Catechumenate, the candidates will be encouraged toward deeper reflection and study and will explore a number of crucial topics including the Eucharist, Liturgy of the Word, Liturgy of the Eucharist, the nature of sin, Reconciliation, Mary, and discipleship.

We are especially grateful to those who have agreed to be sponsors for our candidates and catechumen. Sponsors play a vital role in the their individual spiritual journeys and in the entire OCIA process.

Please keep all those involved in the OCIA program in your prayers throughout the upcoming Period of the Catechumenate, and beyond.
