Prayer For A New Bishop
As the Diocese of Shreveport awaits the appointment of a new bishop, we invite all parishioners to join together in prayer for our diocese and its future shepherd. Prayer cards are available in the church pews. Please take one home and join us in praying that the Holy Father will be guided by wisdom and discernment in selecting a bishop who will lead our local Church with faith, humility, and compassion. May we prepare to welcome our new bishop with open and prayerful hearts.
You can also download a digital copy of the prayer card on the Diocese of Shreveport website below.
Prayer for a New Bishop
Almighty and loving God, eternal Shepherd of your people, we entrust the Diocese of Shreveport to your providential care as we await our new bishop.
Grant wisdom and discernment to our Holy Father as he chooses a new bishop for our local Church, and give us a shepherd after the heart of Jesus, the Good Shepherd.
May he proclaim the Gospel faithfully, serve with humility and compassion, and lead your people in holiness and unity.
Prepare him to serve the people of North Louisiana, and prepare us to welcome him with open and prayerful hearts. We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
