What is The Rosary Congress?

The Diocese of Shreveport will be hosting the Diocesan Rosary Congress from October 1-7, 2022. The Rosary Congress is a week-long period of intense, around the clock prayer consisting of Perpetual Adoration and Hourly Rosary, offered in a spirit of reparation. Our diocese is joining with other across the nation to pray for the healing of our Church, our families and our nation (see rosarycongressusa.org). As the Church suffers from persecution from within and without, as family life is attacked more viciously than ever before, and as life continues to be threatened in its most vulnerable stages, we need this unified prayer now more than ever.

Eucharistic Adoration at St. Joseph Parish

St. Joseph Parish will host 24-hours of Eucharistic Adoration beginning Sunday, October 2nd.

The Rosary Congress will travel to a different parish in the diocese for each 24-hour period. St. Joseph Parish will host the second twenty-four hours of Eucharistic Adoration and recite the Rosary each hour on the hour beginning October 2nd at 7 PM. After the 6 PM Mass, we will pray the Rosary and expose the Blessed Sacrament. The Blessed Sacrament will be transferred to the Adoration Chapel overnight for continued Adoration, and then moved back into the church after the 8:15 AM Mass Monday. We will conclude our 24-hour period with Benediction at 6 PM.

Holy Rosary

Each hour of Adoration during our 24-hour period will begin by praying the Rosary except at 3 AM and 3 PM when the Chaplet of Divine Mercy will be prayed instead. If you cannot sign up to be an Adorer, you can still participate by saying the Rosary at home.

Sign Up to Be An Adorer

We encourage all parishioners and families to sign up for at least one hour of Eucharistic Adoration and to pray the Rosary. This is an opportunity for all of us to evangelize and teach our children about Adoration, the Real Presence of Jesus Christ in the Eucharist, the graces received and Mary, the Mother of the Eucharist, who leads us to Him.
